Last year, ENVINYA announced that the band's former vocalist Natalie Pereira dos Santos has left the band.
After months of searching for a new front woman, ENVINYA are now happy to introduce their new vocalist!
Her full name's María del Mar Díaz Serrano, but everyone calls her Mery Díaz.
She already played in a couple of other bands (e.g., Heyerdal or Atmosphera) and performs on stage as actress, vocalist and dancer in various musicals.
ENVINYA released their latest album "Inner Silence" in late January 2013 via Massacre Records.
You've probably heard that a lot of people were affected by the floodings in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and lost pretty much everything they had.
Radio-Diabolus wants to help the victims and compiled the digital "Metal For The Flood Victims Donation Sampler" that contains 40 songs.
Our artists wanted to support Radio-Diabolus and quite a few are featured with a song on the sampler: Schwarzer Engel, Helldorados, Circle Of Silence, Macbeth, Vendetta, DuskMachine, Scornage, Hate Squad, Outrage, Mastic Scum, Thrudvangar and Rebellion.
The sampler is available for 5€ and all earnings will be donated to an aid organization - without any deductions!
You can choose if you pay 5€ or you can even pay more than 5€ if you want.
Only a couple of weeks to go until AGATHODAIMON are going to release their sixth studio album "In Darkness"!
Recorded at the Kohlekeller Studio with producer Kristian "Kohle" Kohlmannslehner, the album will regularly feature 8 tracks. The limited edition digipak will contain an additional bonus track.
AGATHODAIMON's guitarists Sathonys and Thilo have now offered insight on the tracks of their upcoming album:
Thilo: "This song has an unconvential structure. There's no verse and no chorus, which grants the song its special atmosphere. "In Darkness" starts with an acoustic intro and develops into a black metal inferno.
The blast beats accompanied by the epic keyboards are awesome. They're followed by a melodic riff, which transforms into a modified version with clean guitars that ends the song.
As mentioned, quite unconventional, but we aimed for a more organic approach on this album, trying to let mainly our feelings guide the songwriting.“
I've Risen
Thilo: "This track had the working title "Hymn". Well, working titles are often stupid, which mostly results out of the fact that it's very likely that our producer Kohle triggers them (Hi Kohle!). During the pre-production, we worked on some "hymnic" choirs for this song, that's how the working title came to life.
As they're an essential part of "I've Risen", at least the working title did make sense here.
Au contraire to the working title of "In Darkness"; Kohle titled this one "Wintersun". Even though it didn't have anything to do with the band Wintersun. We just talked about the band before we worked on this track... anyway, an important attribute is the distorted and intentionally disharmonic violin along with the pounding riff. All in all, a very mighty, epic song for which we aim to produce a video clip currently."
Favourite Sin
Sathonys: "Many years ago, our old vocalist Vlad and I jammed to the opening riff of this song in our rehearsal room, while he was on a visit to Germany. Could not forget about it ever since, so we finally managed to record it… the lyrics are to a big extent unaltered from the first version of Vlad. There’s a quote from a poem by George Bacovia in it, a quote from Mikhail Bakunin, and also an excerpt from the Book of Revelation amongst other stuff.
Music-wise, I’d say the song is an interesting mixture of Alice In Chains and black metal, and also has a subliminal western vibe to it. It’s also partly inspired by "The Devil’s Advocate" and obviously has a certain anti-religious message. And yes, it’s my personal favourite of this album, not only because I do some clean vocals here, hehe."
Oceans Of Black
Sathonys: "Some evil backward masking in the beginning… the spine of this song lies in the lead melody. A very simple, catchy tune in my opinion, that has a healthy, depressive aura and that positively reminds me of the good old times - actually it’s one of the oldest tunes ever, as it’s inspired by material of our demo days.
There’s a neighbourhood to songs like "Ribbons/Requiem" and "Tristetea Vehementa". Starts out slow, but has one of the fastest endings ever. Our drummer Manuel nearly freaked out! Oh, and features some great melody lines by our vocalist Ash."
The second part of the track-by-track commentary will be released soon.
AGATHODAIMON's "In Darkness" will be released on June 28, 2013 via Massacre Records!

We're happy to announce the signing of Germany's death/viking metal quintet THRUDVANGAR!
The band was originally formed as a quartet back in 2001. With the release of their demo in 2003 and the debut album "Ahnenthron" in 2004, the band gained a lot of fans that are into epic and melodic pagan/viking metal.
During the recordings of their second album, some major line-up changes took place. With the addition of a second guitarist the band's sound became more aggressive, but still remained melodic. The band signed with Einheit Produktionen and released all of their previous albums, including a re-release of their debut, on the label.
THRUDVANGAR played at various festivals, such as the Ragnarök Festival, Wave-Gotik-Treffen or the Pagan Nights Festival and supported bands like Nomans Land and Trollech.
A huge highlight in the band's career so far was the release of their concept album "Durch Blut Und Eis" in 2010, which was about the life of Eric the Red. They also shot their first video clip for the song "Thornesthing" off the album.
In 2012 the keyboardist left the band and THRUDVANGAR decided to go on without a keyboard in the future line-up.
The band is now ready to release their fifth album on Massacre Records in July 2013!
If you want to see the guys live, you can do so at the following dates:

Austrian thrashers THE LAST WARNING unleash "The Beast"!
The video clip for the album opener "The Beast" was shot in Athens, Greece, directed by Nick Mylonas and George Tsantilas (In The Core Media) and is available here:
The band comments on the song as follows:
"The lyrics of this song are inspired by the life of the Austrian serial killer Jack Unterweger. In 1974, Unterweger murdered an 18-year-old German girl. He was arrested in 1976 and was sentenced to life in prison. While in prison, Unterweger became an author of short stories, poems, plays, and an autobiography.
In 1985 a campaign to pardon Jack and release him from prison was started by Austrian's high society. He was released May 23, 1990.
In the same year, the murders went on in Europe and the United States. He was finally arrested by the FBI in Miami, Florida, in February 1992.
In June 1994, Unterweger was sentenced to life in prison again. Shortly after, he committed suicide in his jail cell before he could appeal the verdict."

Carlos Holmberg (ex-Soilwork) is responsible for the amazing cover artwork, which you can enjoy below!
DARKANE recently spoke about the album title as well as the artwork:
" 'The Sinister Supremacy' is a metaphor for the evil that controls us. It’s the dark part of our minds and it’s inside us all. It tells us it’s ok to do bad things, to hurt other people, and hurt ourselves. It guides us into making choices based on pure selfishness, and it thrives on complete chaos.
The cover art by Carlos Holmberg is a Rorschach test as seen by an individual who has completely succumbed to the sinister supremacy."
The band has already posted two short clips from the studio on their fb page, which you can enjoy here:

Germany's dark metal quintet AGATHODAIMON is currently working hard on the successor of their 2009 release "Phoenix".
They've entered the Kohlekeller Studios in February and hope to finish the recordings with producer Kristian "Kohle" Kohlmannslehner in late April.
The band's new album is entitled "In Darkness" and will be released this summer!
You surely want to know what to expect from the new release, don't you?
Here's what guitarist and vocalist Sathonys has to say about it:
"We’re sure IN DARKNESS has a lot of killer songs, and we did step into the right direction - though it’s also a step backwards. Back to the roots, to be clear.
We collectively felt that PHOENIX reached a point that’s as far as we can go, without denying our roots. So we summoned the spirit of the old times (of course without trying to pretend it’s 1995).
We put focus on the atmosphere and got rid of elements which did not fit to our vision. To summarize, I’d say it’s less technical, but more dense, coming rather from the heart than our heads. This sounds strange maybe, but you’ll get it once you’ll hear the first songs."
A few impressions from the studio are available on the band's fb page.
Do you want to know more?

Original Austrian Alpencore!
We're happy to announce the signing of TUXEDO!
The Austrian sextet was formed as an alternative/crossover trio back in 2005.
They released their EP "Schizophrenia" in 2009. Soon after and with the addition of a new drummer, they played more metal oriented music.
Their second EP "Fight" was released in 2010 and received good reviews. A second guitarist joined the band and they continued to develop their own musical style. Soon after, Austrian Alpencore was born!
Since their formation in 2005, the band has played more than a hundred gigs in Austria, Germany, Croatia and Slovakia and supported bands like Unearth, Sepultura, Debauchery, Ektomorf and others! They also played at several festivals, such as the Metalfest Open Air Austria, Metal Invasion or Novarock.
You won't forget a gig of TUXEDO!
Their percussion-driven metalcore with thrash elements is combined with their unique "Alpencore show", which includes the guys wearing traditional Austrian costumes. Yes, they also wear Lederhosen!
Some of you may have already noticed a couple of line-up changes since the release of ZOMBIE INC.'s debut "A Dreadful Decease".
Our favorite walking dead have now introduced their new drummer, Florian Musil, who seems to love innards instead of brains.
The band stated:
"Readers of our biography will know it already. And for those who didn't: The new monster on the drums is the handsome but not less brutal Florian Musil! He punched the shit out of his drums for the upcoming album HOMO GUSTICUS already."
If you want to see the guys live, you can attend one of their upcoming gigs:
Prior to their brand new album "Homo Gusticus", out on April 26, 2013 via Massacre Records, ZOMBIE INC. are going to release their digital single "Resurrection Guaranteed" on April 5, 2013!
We want to welcome the multinational quintet CRYSTAL TEARS to the Massacre Records family!
The band was formed in the late 90's in Greece and issued several demos before they released their debut album "Choirs Of Immortal" in 2006 via Pure Steel Records.
It didn't take long until they shared stages with bands such as W.A.S.P., Riot or Jag Panzer!
CRYSTAL TEARS have left their mark as one of Greece's best heavy metal acts and have proven to be a persistent, innovative and unstoppable force.
Their musical roots can be traced back from the good ol' heavy metal of the Eighties up to modern metal.

The band announced the addition of the Danish singer Søren Nico Adamsen (ex-Artillery) as well as the Hungarian guitarist Máté Nagy in late 2012 and started working on their third full-length album, which was recorded with producer R. D. Liapakis (Mystic Prophecy, Devil's Train).

We're thrilled to announce the signing of Germany's death metal warmachine DEBAUCHERY!
In post-apocalyptic times the Blood God starts the Death Metal Warmachine again. 10 years of constant warfare have made DEBAUCHERY even more brutal and sinister. Battlefields all over the world, from Russia to China, all across Europe were left victorious. Most of the well-known festivals - Wacken, Summer Breeze, With Full Force - were destroyed. On the campaigns DEBAUCHERY followed bands like Napalm Death, Destruction, Six Feet Under and more. The Blood God and his Murder Squad strode beside icons like Slayer, Venom, Immortal and Saxon – always recognizable because of their gore-drenched shows, half-naked Blood Babes and mutilated body parts.
The controversy of the band has brought DEBAUCHERY time and again in contact with the big mainstream media, be it a story in Germany’s BILD about the lesbian porn for “Death Metal Warmachine” or articles about the loss of the teacher-job of the front man. But in spite of all the brutality of the fantasy image, in real life the moral standards are of another kind: Thomas Gurrath is a vegetarian, his statement the video for “Animal Holocaust”, created in cooperation with PETA.
The music is straight, groovy, dark, brutal and tells evil stories.
DEBAUCHERY is more than just death metal – genres are broken, 10 years in music business, 10 years in metal, 10 years of DEBAUCHERY and now the 10th album of the Blood God.
Be prepared, the new album will be released in early August 2013 via Massacre Records!
Line-up

John Smith, shape-changing Killerbeast of the Cult of Gore - Killsaw
Bob, the Butcher of Bitches - girl-raping Chainsaw
Bloodspawn, the Corpsebeast, one of the Kings of Carnage - Blastmaster-Battery
